ABOUT

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Hawaii (UPAAH) is the official organization of the alumni of UP who reside or have established residence in Hawaii. 

Our mission is to assist the University of the Philippines in the fulfillment of its mission through scholarships, information and technology transfer and faculty and student exchange.

We are dedicated to uplifting our community through cultural preservation, education, and advocacy on issues that matter to Filipinos in Hawaii. We strive to uphold honor and excellence in all we do.

  • 1972: Geminiano "Toy" Arre, Jr. established the UP Club.

  • 1994: A group began to meet to reorganize and re-establish UP Club from dormancy. 

  • Aug. 1995 - July 1996: Tom See

  • 1996 - 1997: Achie Reyes

  • 1997- 1998: Richard Pecson

  • 1998 - 1999: Leo Obaldo

  • Aug. 1999 - July 2002: Beatrice Ramos-Razon; two-year term began

  • 2002 - 2004: Raymund Llanes Liongson

  • 2004 - 2006: Imelda Fines-Gasmen

  • 2006 - 2008: Leorosie Zabanal

  • 2008 - 2010: Alma Phocas

  • 2010 - 2012: Divina Telan-Robilard

  • 2012 - 2014: Carolyn Weygan-Hildebrand

  • 2014 - 2016: Melody Calisay

  • 2016 - 2018: Alberto Jalalon

  • 2018 - 2020:  Irineo "Jun" Gappe, Jr.

  • Jan. 2020 - Dec. 2022: Artemio Tim Llena; change to calendar year
